The Salix babylonica
named Veronica
New Release
Paperback, 234 pages
When Veronica, a Salix Babylonica, or weeping willow tree, who has a knack for playing melodious music, awakens to discover a human baby has been left beneath her branches, she must decide if she is willing to push her own negativity about humans aside in
order to keep the baby named Aaliyah alive. As Aaliyah grows, Veronica experiences intense feelings of joy and happiness. Over time, she becomes so enraptured by the girl that she no longer recalls the things she once enjoyed herself and questions her purpose and what to do with herself.
When Aaliyah encounters a human boy and decides to leave her tree mother in pursuit of a life with those who are more like herself, Veronica grieves. Faced with an empty nest, Veronica must learn to take care of herself so she can effectively take care of others. In this fairy tale type story appropriate for women, caregivers, moms and dads, the realization that it is not selfish to practice self-care motivates Veronica to resume her search for self-fulfillment and find happiness in a place she has nearly forgotten about – inside herself.
